抄録: The purpose of this paper is to discuss about the deaf education. It can be said that deaf education has major difficulties communicating. To solve the difficulties, there are two education methods in deaf education : the oral deaf education and the sign language method. Oral deaf education has progressed over the years. This method is affected the educational administration and healthcare technologies : the hearing instruments, universal neonatal hearing screening and the cochlear implants. The oral deaf education can be interpreted according to the individual model of disability of disability studies. The sign language method has been influenced from the linguistics, the Deaf culture and insistence on rights of deaf children. The disability studies are new waves for handicaps. This model contrary to the traditional view on disability and disabled people, which claims that one's physical impairment itself does not consist on her/his disability. This model claims that the problem is the society which excludes handicapped members. The social model has developed in the field of disability studies in Great Britain. And this model is now the theoretical standard of disability studies. The sign language method can be interpreted according to the social model of disability of disability studies. Both the oral deaf educations and the sign language method have progressed. For deaf children and their family, to select the education is the main challenge.
