抄録: When performing dance exercise, smooth movements and connections between the movement phrases are important factors that impact the quality of the performance. In this study, we investigated effective teaching points for acquisition of smooth movements during performance of an early stage of dance exercise. The task movement was composed of 8 counts in 4 phrase movements (total 32 counts), not including technical movements. Six female students participated in the study. Their learning process was recorded and the final performance was evaluated based on shape, direction, tempo, and connections. During the early stage of acquisition, even though the shape of the dance component was correctly learned, connections between that shape and performance at regular speed were difficult. Subjects able to perform smoothly repeatedly practiced how to move their body parts at a slow pace. In addition, they practiced difficult connections in reverse order. Our results suggest that it is necessary for dance students to realize the effect of a shift in the center of gravity, while instruction in the direction from the performance of a shape to the next shape is important.
